To reporters in Abeokuta, Mrs. Florence Okpe, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokeswoman for Ogun Sector Command, verified the occurrence.

According to Okpe, the event happened at about 4:10 p.m.

She clarified that there were six individuals involved in the incident, all of them were adult males and that two persons were hurt and one person, the motor kid, killed.

Five vehicles in all were involved, according to her: a Sino tanker with the marking T23771 LA, a Micra with the marking GDB 841 XR, a Honda CRV without a registration number, and two Nissan automobiles with the registration numbers AAN 544 YC and LSD 993 CY.

According to the FRSC spokeswoman, the tanker had brake failure, which caused it to lose control, smash into the road barricade, and catch fire.
